Lexington Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Sixpence Home Visitor for the 2022-2023 school year. Applicants must have the Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: 

  • Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education
  • Nursing including at least twelve (12) graduate or undergraduate hours in any combination of family-centered practices or child and youth development.
  • Child Development

Varsity Head Volleyball Coach

 

Lexington Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of varsity head volleyball coach for the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

In order to serve as a head or assistant coach or sponsor of any activity sponsored by the NSAA, individuals must possess a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate or Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate issued by the Nebraska Department of Education.

 

Individuals who do not possess either of these Nebraska certificates, can obtain a Special Services Certificate from the Nebraska Department of Education to meet the NSAA requirement.

Obtaining a Special Services Certificate for Coaching:

1.  Complete (2) online NFHS courses at www.nfhslearn.com/courses.

      • Fundamentals of Coaching
      • First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches

2. Fingerprint cards are required if you have not continuously lived in Nebraska for the past five (5) years.

3. Complete the Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Certificate application at www.education.ne.gov/TCERT.

4. Submit original certificates to the Nebraska Department of Education indicating completion of the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching & NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches.

5. The Nebraska Department of Education will send the Special Services Certificate electronically to the individual’s email address included on the application.

6. The certificate will be valid for five (5) years and can be renewed.

Teacher Contract 2023-2025

Substitute Teacher steps in when the regular Teacher is absent. In short-term roles, they are primarily responsible for following the lesson plans already created by the regular Teacher, but in a long-term role, they create their own lesson plans in accordance with the established curriculum and the regular Teacher’s learning outcomes for the class. In addition to instruction, the Substitute Teacher monitors and reports on student behavior and maintains a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and generally receive the individual attention they need to effectively learn the material in the lesson plan.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

    • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
    • Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
    • Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
    • Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria
    • Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
    • For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher’s past lesson plans

 

Qualifications

    • A valid and current Substitute Teacher license for the State of Nebraska
    • Strong English verbal and written communication skills

Majestic Theatre Assistant Coordinator

McKinney Vento Paraprofessional

Part-Time

 

Lexington Public Schools is seeking a bilingual candidate to work as a paraprofessional to assist the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program social worker with Spanish speaking students and families.  Duties include interpreting phone calls, office meetings, and home visits. This person will also assist the social worker to implement services for homeless students and families.  20 hours per week.

Part-Time Bus Driver

 

School Bus Drivers safely transport passengers and students to and from school. School Bus Drivers perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, ensuring their school bus is clean and well maintained. School Bus Drivers assist students with loading and unloading onto the school bus. School Bus Drivers resolve emergency and non-emergency situations that occur on the way to and from school.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons
  • Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
  • Ensure the safety of all students
  • Discipline children when required to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required
  • Must complete yearly physical fitness requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL license required
  • 1+ years’ experience driving a school bus (training provided for the right candidate)
  • No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years
  • Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)
